About Rusted Compass
Hello, my name is Nolan, and I thank you for visiting Rusted Compass. Rusted Compass was founded as a guide and outline for exploring the many different ways communities can become strengthened through voluntary actions of people that love their city.
It started in 2013 when I wanted to get involved in my own local community. I wasn’t quite sure where to begin, but I kept my eyes open and soon started to discover that there are so many unique ways to connect locally. I’ve learned that there is no across-the-board method for improving a community; the possibilities are as vast as there are people. I started Rusted Compass to begin to journal and document these pathways toward community.
I truly believe that every individual is born with something unique and meaningful to offer the world. Everyone wants to feel a sense of belonging in their community, and one of the best ways to find that is through volunteering and connecting locally. I hope that you will be inspired by the possibilities in our guides and articles, and that you will find an opportunity that speaks to you personally and in your own community.
